We promise you everyday your children will learn something.
Some days they will bring it home in their hands. Some days they
will bring it home in their heads. And some days they will bring
it home in their hearts.
”  Valerie Welk

Little Mountain Preschool was started by three seasoned teachers who were friends for many years, worked together for many years and decided that they would venture out and start the most wonderful place for any child to love and enjoy. They share the same interests and philosophies about education and everyday life. They are an amazing trio who have the same love for teaching children by allowing children to be free to experience their individuality: experiencing play in a variety of creative ways while developing a positive self-image, independence, gaining self-control, learning to share, making independent decisions in a safe place where they are able to express their emotions as well as frustrations in a loving, trusting environment where they are never judged.

We are Lise Barr, Margot Enbom, and Denise Waite. Together we have over 70 years combined experience in teaching children. We most recently worked together at Ross Valley Nursery School in Kentfield, CA and left to create our own preschool to fulfill our shared vision. Our approach to education comes directly from an absolute love of children and childhood. Teaching children is our passion, our life’s work. We are motivated, excited, eager, skilled, knowledgeable, and incredibly enthusiastic.

Our school is a play-based, developmentally appropriate environment which fosters the joy of learning, never-ending curiosity, confident risk taking, lasting friendships, and necessary life skills. We will take into account the whole child and differences in learning styles.

We are licensed for up to 37 children. The program will consist of 3, 4, and 5 year olds (the youngest being 3 years of age by September 1) attending Monday through Friday.
